Hi Everyone,
Happy almost 2020! One of my goals in 2019 was to take better care of my skin! I know some of you may have the same goals going into the new year, so I wanted to give you my honest review of Botox and Hydrafacials.
It is no secret that I have been visiting The Effect Lifestyle Practice quite a bit over these past few months. I have been self conciuous with some of the fine lines on my skin recently, and wanted to take the jump to do something about it. I have been getting a lot of questions about my experience, and wanted to cover it all here. HydraFacial immediate Before and After pics coming at ya!
I started visiting the Effect Lifestyle Practice back in may for Fraxel resurfacing treatments. I'm not going to cover that here quite yet, because I have one more round to go! But I will tell you (in all honesty) I was absolutely terrified the first time I received a treatment here! I will always keep my loyalty for laser treatments or any type of filler with The Effect because they made me feel so at ease. First of all, they are totally supportive of having a glass of champagne, provided by them, to calm your nerves before any treatment. Secondly, the team at the effect make you feel like family. I swear, every time I go in Bri, Tracy, or Kristin always give the warmest welcome... its like I legit known them my whole life.
After having such an amazing experience with my 2 rounds of Fraxel, I scheduled an appointment with Tracy for Botox. Last month I started with 12 units of botox on each side of my eyes. This is not a lot at all! My eyes have always bothered me, and was hoping for a quick fix for my small crow's feet. Tracy administered my botox in like 2 or 3 minutes. It was soo quick and didn't hurt at all. I am probably the most prone to bruise person that I know, and I didn't have any! It was super impressive actually. I didn't notice any difference immediately, but by day 5 I could 1000% tell a difference in my eyes. I loved so much, that I made a second appointment with Tracy for a much larger area of my face.
I scheduled my next appointment for my forehead and my elevens (area between your eyes) for a few weeks after my eye appointment. In between both botox appointments, my skin was starting to look insanely dull and acne prone... Thank you crazy Florida weather! I had only heard amazing things about HydraFacials so I decided to schedule that for the same day as my botox.
The day of my appointment, I was pretty nervous for the botox not going to lie.. it is such a large part of your face. As soon as I got to the effect, I enjoyed a glass of champagne and started my appointment with a HydraFacial with Kristin.
My favorite part of this facial is that it is soooo relaxing! My facial lasted about 45 minutes, but this can vary if you add any additional treatments to the HydraFacial. For example, I have a problem with Fine lines so Kristin recommended the Human growth factor treatment... LOVED IT! I also tried the light therapy treatment and that was fabulous! It kills bacteria and reduces redness. Sign me up! At the end of your facial, you can actually see all the junk that comes off and out of your face. It is sooo gross, but definitely worth seeing at the end. Basically it is a tube of mucky water, with floating dead skin, and black heads... gross but so satisfying that the junk is in there and not on your face. This is what it looks like, but my phone's camera wasn't able to capture all of the gross stuff floating in there..
Another benefit is that there is no pain associated with the HydraFacial! It is honestly a super soothing, relaxing facial for any skin type. It has major, immediate results and unlike laser treatments.. no downtime!
After my Hydrafacial, I noticed an Immediate difference in my skin. It was soo much brighter, and clear. I couldn't see my pores like before.
- Hydrated Skin
- Removes dead skin cells
- Removes impurities from poors
- Smaller Poors
- Reduced appearance of fine lines
- Human Growth Factor (add-on that I tried) Increases collagen production in skin
- Brightens skin

After my HydraFacial, Tracy came in for my botox treatment. I was a little nervous because we more than doubled the units from my first botox treatment... 26 units total to be exact! I would say on a pain scale of 1-10, this visit was about a 2. The whole treatment took about 5 minutes.. it is so crazy how fast it goes by! I was a little nervous about what I was going to look like with having such a large part of my face done. By day 7, I noticed the full effect! This time I did have a very small bruise where one of my elevens were injected, but no where else!
Some people may not like the idea of getting botox or fillers, but honestly I feel so much more happy with the way I look. Nothing is better than feeling more confident, so if you think that a little (or a lot ) of botox will fix small things, do it!
If you are in the Jacksonville area, I highly recommend The Effect Lifestyle Practice. They are located in Mandarin. **Mention my name at your appointment for a discount!! **
I hope everyone has a safe and happy new year!!
XoXo,
