Our Family Trip to The Wyndham on I-Drive

Hi Friends,

I hope everyone is off to a great start to 2020! The most important thing to me lately, and going into the new year, is making sure I spend quality time with Drew and Harleigh. Harleigh is growing up so fast, and our schedules are so busy lately. I make sure we take trips together a few times a year to create new, forever lasting memories!

A few weeks ago, we decided to take a small family trip 2 hours south to Orlando, Florida. Every important part of any vacation is where you stay. Honestly, it can make or break your trip! We decided to stay at The Wyndham on International Drive, which is in the middle of all the excitement.

The Wyndham at I-Drive is a beautiful resort. For being in the middle of the world's top tourist destination, you actually feel like you are somewhere very tropical. It is fabulous because if you are looking for a relaxing getaway it makes a great location! But on the other end of the spectrum, if you are looking to visit all the fun attractions Orlando has to offer, you are within minutes of them all!

During our family vacation, we definitely chose to be more of "Do-ers", so thank goodness we had a cozy room to relax in every night. We got in super late on Friday, and arrived to a beautiful  resort with the friendliest staff. Check-In was a breeze, and the concierge was soo nice. Even for it being 11 o'clock at night, all of the staff were energized and incredibly helpful with assisting us to our room. The Wyndham has 3 different room types for all family sizes! The premium with a double bed (sleeps 4), a king size premium or the Family Bunk room (sleeps 6). Since there was only 3 of us, we chose the premium with double beds and it was perfect!

One of my favorite parts about the rooms at The Wyndham is that each room has its own private balcony. At other resorts I have visit in the past, it is either an up-charge or luck if you have a balcony. This is a plus for those who want to enjoy the beautiful Florida weather. Another favorite part is the huge closets and descent size bathrooms! I had plenty of room to unpack all of clothes, shoes and toiletries for all 3 of us.

We woke up bright and early on Saturday to go to Sea World. Our day here is coming up in another blog post, but it was only a 10 minute drive. If you choose not to drive, The Wyndham offers a complimentary shuttle to Sea World and Universal! Before we headed to the park for the day, we wanted to grab breakfast so we took our own vehicle. There were soo many options within a short driving distance! We chose the classic I-Hop that was right across the street from our resort. Harleigh was craving pancakes!

On Day 2, we went to ICON Park. It is only a 10 minute walk or 5 minute drive to arrive from the Wyndham. The Wyndham neighbors ICON Park, so definitely squeeze it in if you can! We rode the The Wheel attraction. I was honestly terrified, but it cool because you can see all of Orlando from the top! You could even see Disney which was really neat. Harleigh and Drew also had a blast. There are other attractions you can visit at ICON Park if heights aren't your thing. They have several restaurants (Including a Sugar Factory), an aquarium, bones exhibit, and Madame Tussauds wax museum.

I wish we would have had one more, much warmer day, to just hang poolside at The Wyndham. It was soo nice and they have Gatorville Poolside Bar & Grill. What sounds better than a beautiful Florida day, poolside, with a cocktail?! We will definitely return back to this location for our next family trip and be sure to save one day for the pool.

For all my pet owners, listen up!! The Wyndham is pet friendly! You can bring your furry family member with you on your next trip. I wish we would have brought Sammy because he would have loved it!!

I hope you all have a happy and healthy new year... and get to sneak in some travel getaways!

XoXo,
